Four women labelled as ISIS brides and their nine children were prevented from boarding a flight to Australia after Syrian authorities turned them back before reaching Damascus airport. The Australian government has not directly addressed its role in blocking their return, despite the group being issued passports and flight bookings. Opposition politicians are demanding clarity on the government’s position regarding the cohort currently held in the Alroje detention camp.
