Distressing footage has captured horrific scenes on the streets in Iran, with Iranian security forces allegedly heard shooting at protesters for six minutes as screams and gunfire ring out.
The chilling video, released by Iran NT, purportedly captures the moment a barrage of gunfire broke out during a protest against the Iranian regime in Tehran’s Tehranpars neighborhood on January 9. The footage, which features a few cuts, begins with the sound of a single gun firing in the street before dozens of automatic rounds are heard.
“Death to Khamenei!” one person can he heard shouting, before shrieking screams and more gunfire echo throughout the streets. “We are all together,” another person can be heard yelling later in the video.
At one point, several people on motorcycles appear to take refuge in a car park as the shooting continues.
It’s believed 12,000 and possibly as many as 20,000 people have been killed since protests broke out in Iran in late December, CBS News reports, citing a source inside the country.
