Iran warns US is making a ‘big mistake’ after Trump rubbished ‘unacceptable’ peace deal
Iran has threatened that the US is making a “big mistake” following President Donald Trump’s rejection of the regime’s latest peace deal offer.
The Islamic Republic warned that if the US commits “aggression” or a “miscalculation”, they will bear the “consequences” of past mistakes.
Iran also threatened that it would not hold back from retaliating against new US warships or from permitting foreign warships into the Strait of Hormuz.
On Sunday, President Trump rejected Iran’s latest peace deal, blasting the latest offer as “totally unacceptable”.
The failure to reach an agreement follows weeks of negotiations and could see a return to conflict, with Iran’s nuclear and missile programmes a major sticking point.
