Iran war backlash leaves Republicans scrambling in lead-up to midterms
News24 host Samara Gill discusses whether foreign policy decisions could carry electoral consequences for Republicans.
“The last midterms under Trump were lost because of Roe v Wade,” Ms Gill said.
“This one is now because of what happened with Iran.
“If the Republican Party has to stand on their legacy that they stopped the Ayatollah and Iran from having a nuclear bomb, but they lost the midterms as a result of that, I think they’ll be able to sleep at night.”
