Iran exploiting Trump ‘weakness’ to drag out war

UWA Defence and Security Institute’s Jennifer Parker says US President Donald Trump’s lack of “political discipline” has prolonged the conflict with Iran.

“What Iran has seen potentially in the US is a weakness, in that lack of political discipline,” Ms Parker told Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann.

“This has prolonged the negotiations because Iran thinks the longer we draw this out, the more the US experiences both international and domestic pressure.

“To respond in the lack of discipline they are, the more benefit there is for Iran.”
