Increased shark drones at New South Wales beaches
The New South Wales government will be launching a shark mitigation plan in response to the unprecedented number of attacks.
The $4.2 million package includes a bull shark tagging program to determine how many sharks enter Sydney Harbour.
Listening stations will be installed at popular swimming spots to alert people when a tagged shark is nearby.
Drone surveillance will also be increased to seven days a week until the end of the April school holidays.
This is additional to the extra volunteer lifeguards and shark monitoring drones which have been patrolling New South Wales beaches.
Four people were attacked by sharks in the state over 48 hours last week.
