I won’t use force Trump softens Greenland threat in Davos keynote

Donald Trump has made a surprising statement amid his push to take over the Danish island of Greenland.
Despite him repeatedly saying the military could indeed be used to take the island, he told the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, “I won’t use force” to achieve those aims.
That will come as a relief to European nations and Greenlanders in particular. It could also head off at Republican revolt in Congress which could have led to it blocking any military moves.
However, that doesn’t mean Mr Trump’s eventual goal is not exactly the same.
And he had an ominous warning to Europe if it did not agree to his Greenland demands.
“Europe has a choice. You can say yes and we will be appreciative, or you can say no and we will remember”.
