‘I thank you warmly for your prayers’: Pope Leo shares message following lung cancer diagnosis
The Pope has shared his first message since his lung cancer diagnosis.
He thanked fellow Catholics for their prayers after his 90-minute surgery in Rome.
According to medical staff who treated the Pontiff, doctors removed the lower lobe of one of his lungs.
“I thank you warmly for your prayers and for the work you have done together. Your sharing of experiences and attentive listening are indeed a gift to the whole Church,” Pope Leo said.
