How scientists are trying to preserve the rhino ray species from extinction | ABC NEWS


A group of species known as rhino rays, which includes sawfish, are among the most threatened animals in the ocean, but the waters of the Northern Territory have become an important refuge.

The capital Darwin is also the base for a dedicated shark and ray research team working to protect them worldwide.

An Indonesian researcher has travelled to the territory to join the effort — and to learn how she can help save the species back home.
