How Lula da Silva came from behind to beat Bolsonaro in Brazilian election | The World ABC News
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has won an historic non-consecutive fourth term, in a shock result that defied polls.
His opponent, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the eldest son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, had done well in the first round of voting, but Lula supporters rallied in the runoff.
Flavio Bolsonaro is refusing to accept defeat, and says he’ll ask for the result to be annulled after voting hours were extended at the last minute.
Sao Paolo-based journalist Euan Marshall spoke to The World’s Girish Sawlani about how President Lula da Silva was able to turn things around.
