The Roseville Cinema, one of Sydney’s last heritage cinemas, has been placed on the market for the first time in 50 years following a Supreme Court order after a falling out between owners and mounting debts. Built as a town hall in 1912 and transformed into an Art Deco cinema, the property faces an uncertain future as zoning laws would permit up to nine storeys of apartments on the site. Potential buyers have until October 8 to submit offers for the 115-year-old institution, with both developers and cinema enthusiasts expressing interest.
