Heart-pounding CCTV footage from Bangkok, Thailand, captures the exact moment a hero pet owner used his bare hands to save his family’s cat from a 6-foot reticulated python. While the feline was eating on the floor, the lurking predator lunged, biting the cat’s tail and instantly wrapping around it to constrict. Hearing the cat’s painful screeches, the owner’s mother rushed over to hit the snake with a bucket, before her son, Tan, grabbed the python by its tail with his bare hands and swung it away until the pet broke free. Tan then trapped the giant reptile behind a door until animal rescuers arrived, and the cat was rushed to a vet for treatment and a full recovery.
