Egypt has officially inaugurated the world’s largest museum dedicated to an ancient civilisation.
The Grand Egyptian Museum took two decades to construct and oversees the Giza pyramid complex.
The facility houses over 50,000 artefacts including those from King Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi says the official opening of the museum ‘pins a new chapter’ in the history of his ‘ancient’ country.
