‘Get on with it’: Angus Taylor demands Albanese act on Darwin Port

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor accuses Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of failing to deliver on his election promise to return Darwin Port to Australian hands, warning the port is a strategically important military asset.

“The Prime Minister made the announcement that he would get it back into Australian hands under duress during the election campaign after we had said that we would force it back into Australian hands,” Mr Taylor told News24 host Peta Credlin.

“There’s been no moves to fix this problem. This should not be in Chinese. The Port of Darwin is a strategic asset, obviously strong military interest in getting it right.

“He needs to get on with it and do exactly what he said he was going to do.”
