Geelong Football Club has held an emergency board meeting to address controversy over a secret concussion deal with former player Jake Kolodjashnij that was never lodged with AFL headquarters. The agreement aimed to absolve the club of future legal action, and AFL chairman Craig Drummond’s position is under scrutiny as he was Geelong president when the deal was overseen. The AFL has issued a memo to all club CEOs reinforcing that any separate agreements to standard playing contracts must be lodged with the league or will be treated as ineffective.
