Gazans and Israelis await release of hostages and detainees
A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas held in Gaza for a third day ahead of the expected release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners and those held under administrative detention, and an address by United States President Donald Trump to Israel’s parliament.
Thousands of Palestinians continued to travel north towards Gaza City, the focus of Israeli attacks over the past two months, to find many of their homes and much of the city reduced to rubble.
Meanwhile, large crowds celebrated the imminent return of the Israeli hostages in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square.
