Flash flooding traps students and triggers rescues | 7NEWS

Flash flooding across northern New South Wales and southern Queensland triggered emergency rescues, including more than 40 Brisbane high school students trapped at a school camp and a man and his dog stranded on their car roof. The northern rivers region received over 50 millimetres of rain, with some areas recording up to 150 millimetres at Couchy Creek, causing the Rous River and Oxley River to surge and creating dangerous conditions across multiple low-lying areas and causeways. NSW SES responded to 200 incidents and conducted three flood rescues, while the rainfall brought relief to inland farmers preparing to plant crops.
