Five per cent first home deposit scheme begins
All first-home buyers will now be able to enter the property market with just a five per cent deposit under the government’s expanded First Home Guarantee scheme. By acting as guarantor, the government will spare buyers from paying costly lenders mortgage insurance. But critics warn the move could push overall house prices even higher.
