First atmosphere discovered on Earth-like planet
Researchers have found the first atmosphere on an Earth-like planet beyond our solar system.
The planet called ‘LHS 1140 b’ is 48 light-years away from Earth, orbiting a red star much smaller and cooler than the Sun.
It’s believed the discovery provides strong evidence that worlds with Earth-like conditions could exist beyond the solar system.
