Fields of Fuel: Should we mandate more ethanol from sugarcane? | Landline | ABC NEWS


The war between the United States, Israel and Iran has highlighted how vulnerable Australia’s fuel supply is. Around 90 per cent is imported and subject to global oil price shock. The sugar industry says a supply solution is growing in our cane fields. It wants a nationwide 2% ethanol mandate so we can make strategic fuel reserves from cane.
