A 23-year-old driver is under police guard in hospital after a crash on Beach Road in Beaumaris that killed 38-year-old Matt Barrett and critically injured another passenger following a pool competition in Moorabbin.
Premier Ben Carroll has shelved work-from-home legislation until July and announced plans to close loopholes on court suppression orders used to protect convicted offenders.
The Reserve Bank has kept interest rates on hold at 4.35% but warned inflation will remain high for the next 18 months, with ANZ predicting house price drops of up to 15% in major cities.
