Fat Bear Week 2026 begins in Alaska
Fat Bear Week has begun at Alaska’s Katmai National Park where the public can vote for the fattest brown bear.
Last year, more than a million votes were cast worldwide, with ‘Chunk’ crowned the winner.
The competition is currently in its 12th year and celebrates the brown bears as they build their fat reserves ahead of their winter hibernation.
