Falling home values and rising rents ‘as bad as you can get’ for the government
EQ Economics Managing Director Warren Hogan says the current state in Australia of home values plummeting and rents increasing is “about as bad” as it can get for the government.
“The government and the Treasury are hoping for this long-term outcome, but right now it’s looking very messy, highly disruptive,” Mr Hogan told News24 host Peta Credlin.
“Politically, the combination of falling house values and rising rents is about as bad as you can get.”
