‘Failing’ Keir Starmer angrily snaps in meeting over savage Iran war grilling
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has snapped at Tory MP Bernard Jenkin during an intense Liaison Committee grilling.
Starmer became visibly angry during the meeting on Monday, where a Conservative MP criticised the UK PM’s approach to the country’s involvement in the Iran conflict.
The UK Prime Minister showed his concern with how the Iran war could “go on for some time” and that the war was “not our war”.
Jenkin criticised Starmer, calling for the UK government to make quicker decisions, accusing Starmer of not having a “war-fighting mentality”.
Starmer attempted to scramble for an answer, accusing the former conservative governments of “stripping out and hollowing” the UK’s armed forces.
Jenkin kept pushing Starmer to answer the question, interjecting while the UK prime minister sidestepped and avoided responding to it.
