Eighty-eight-year-old badminton veteran still smashing it on the court

Meet Colin Bedford, an 88-year-old badminton coach who has spent more of his time on the court than anywhere else. He picked up badminton when he was 11 and has never stopped since, even when he was a soldier in the Malayan jungle.

After nearly 65 years of coaching badminton, Colin got the chance to rally with the UK national badminton team and was “amazed by the standard of the players”.

For Colin, badminton isn’t just a sport. It’s been a constant throughout his life, helping him through his wife’s death.

He won’t be hanging up his racquet anytime soon, and says ‘bring it on’ for another round of the game.
