A former Army veteran has been identified as the suspect who killed eight children, some of whom were his own, in the United States’ worst mass shooting in two years.
Eight children, including a baby, were fatally shot in Shreveport, Louisiana, after Shamark Elkins opened fire at three addresses early Sunday morning (local time).
Police say the 31-year-old targeted some of his “descendants” in multiple homes, shooting at least 10 people during a “domestic disturbance”.
Eight of them were fatally shot. The victims’ ages range from one to 14.
