Dubai-Tel Aviv flight ‘30 seconds from hitting the ground’

Passengers on a flight en route to Israel have described rushing to the plane’s cockpit after the captain was allegedly stabbed by his co-pilot.

Just two hours into its journey, Flydubai flight FZ1073 plunged more than 5,100m in under a minute — a terrifying ordeal for those on board.

Passengers and crew were able to retake control and land the aircraft safely in Saudi Arabia — but aviation consultant Professor Ron Bartsch has told SBS World News that the rate of descent shows the plane was just “30 seconds away from hitting the ground”.
