Danish authorities have suggested a possible link between a drone incursion over Copenhagen airport and Russia.
The aerial intrusion prompted the Danish capital’s airport to shut down, with many flights diverted and cancelled.
Neighbouring Norway also had to close Oslo airport due to a drone presence.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says she cannot rule out the possibility of a Russian operation after drone and fighter jet incursions over Poland and a cyber attack on European airports.
The flying objects led the UN Security Council to hold another emergency meeting, as members warned Russia of a direct armed conflict with NATO.
The Kremlin has strongly denied involvement in these incursions, labelling Denmark’s accusations as ‘unfounded’.
