‘Don’t verbal me’: Albanese clashes with reporter over ‘joke’ made about Trump
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has clashed with a reporter over a previous “joke” made about Donald Trump, where he claimed the US President didn’t own a mobile phone.
“I did not say that, don’t verbal me … if I did, it’s called a joke, humour,” Mr Albanese said.
“Obviously, he has a mobile, and anyone who actually saw the context would know that.
“The point I was making was between leaders of nations, you organise phone calls, you have note takers, you do it in rooms where mobiles aren’t allowed … that’s the way that you deal between the United States President and the Australian Prime Minister.”
