A deadly collision occurred at New York’s LaGuardia Airport when an Air Canada Express plane landing at 160 kilometres per hour struck a fire truck crossing the runway. Both pilots were killed and 41 people were hospitalised, with one cabin attendant ejected from the aircraft while still strapped to her chair. Audio recordings reveal the fire truck was given permission to cross the runway seconds before the collision, suggesting human error may be responsible.
