Two women, a mother and daughter, have become the first people in Australia to be charged with crimes against humanity after returning from Syria. Kauja and Zainab Ahmad face charges including enslavement and using a slave, with allegations they purchased a slave for US$10,000 in 2014. A third woman arriving in Sydney was charged with entering declared areas and being a member of a terrorist organisation.
