New details have emerged that may shed light on the possible motive of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin. According to the FBI, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson wrote a note before the attack saying he had “an opportunity to take Kirk out” and would make use of it. DNA linked him to a towel wrapped around the rifle used in the shooting, as well as a screwdriver found on the rooftop where the shot was fired. Robinson’s personal life has also drawn attention, as he reportedly lived with a partner transitioning from male to female, though authorities have not confirmed any direct connection between this and the killing. While his family is largely conservative, Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson’s ideology appeared very different, describing him as “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology” based on information from friends and family. The assassination has fueled an intense political debate, with some figures framing the attack as an indictment of leftist politics or transgender issues, despite no confirmed motive.
