Concerns over travel influencers promoting Afghanistan

Concerns have been raised over social media influencers touting Afghanistan as the next ‘must-see’ destination for the adventurous traveller.

Critics say influencers are effectively promoting the Taliban on the world stage.

Since the Taliban took power in August 2021, restrictions, especially on women, have tightened.

But others say opening the country to tourism can be a positive thing, if it’s done responsibly.
