In skies across the country, the moon will appear full this weekend.
The event, in the eighth month of the lunar calendar, heralds the harvest festival, also known as the mooncake or mid-Autumn festival.
It’s celebrated by various Asian cultures.
Like elsewhere in the world, families in Australia will come together, and communities will put on public displays all centred around food.
