Coalition proposing tougher penalties for desecration of Australian flag
The Coalition is planning to make the desecration of the Australian flag a serious crime.
Under the proposal, the Opposition also plans to enshrine January 26 as Australia’s national day in Commonwealth law.
The reforms are part of the Coalition’s efforts to win back votes from One Nation.
