Opposition leader Sussan Ley has pledged to reverse Australia’s recognition of Palestine if the Coalition is elected.
The Coalition leader replied to a letter of concern from 25 Republican politicians who argued that the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia’s formal recognition of Palestine before removing Hamas was a ‘reckless’ and ‘misguided’ step.
Sussan Ley also called Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to express disappointment at Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s decision, and the Israeli official responded with appreciation.
