Clive Palmer addresses mention in Epstein files

Billionaire businessman Clive Palmer has denied any ties to Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon and late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Palmer was mentioned in text messages between Bannon and Epstein – released by the US justice department – as part of the Epstein files.

In messages sent two days after the 2019 Australian federal election, Bannon said: “I had Clive Palmer do the $60 million anti-China and climate change ads.”

Palmer confirmed Bannon had called him, but denied that he had any involvement in the ads, which were already running at the time. He also said he never met Epstein.
