Chester Zoo python becomes first snake to receive cancer treatment

A python has received what is believed to be the world’s first cancer treatment for a snake.

Foster, the four-and-a-half-metre reptile from Chester Zoo, was diagnosed with a rare type of cancerous tumour which destroyed part of her jaw.

Vets from the zoo worked alongside cancer specialists to adapt the treatment to the python for the first time.

Months after the procedure, Foster is reportedly cancer-free and eating normally.
