Charlie Kirk’s widow forgives husband’s alleged shooter at memorial
A memorial service for US activist Charles Kirk has been held in his home state of Arizona. Among the speakers were Kirk’s widow Erika and US President Donald Trump.
Erika Kirk publicly forgave her husband’s alleged shooter, saying that Kirk’s mission was to save young men like the accused. Trump however spoke about how Kirk always wanted the best for his opponents but said that’s where he and Kirk disagreed.
Later in his speech, Trump mentioned the outpouring of support for Charlie Kirk around the world and recalled a story of a rural Australian man who said he went to church for the first time in honour of Kirk.
