Business leaders demand royal commission into anti-Semitism | 7NEWS
Prominent Australian business leaders, including former Reserve Bank governors Philip Lowe and David Thodey, along with James Packer and Jane Herdlicher, have signed an open letter demanding a federal royal commission into anti-Semitism following recent anti-Israel graffiti incidents in Melbourne. The call comes in the wake of the Bondi terror attack, with hundreds of Jewish leaders, legal experts and families of victims mounting pressure on the Albanese government to establish the inquiry. While New South Wales has fast-tracked new firearm and hate speech laws, Victoria will not follow suit until Parliament returns next month, and the federal government continues to resist the royal commission demands.
