Brisbane man charged over alleged bribery in Bangladesh murder case | 7NEWS
A Brisbane man, Awlad Hossain, has been arrested by the Australian Federal Police and charged with bribing a foreign public official after allegedly transferring approximately $90,000 to contacts in Bangladesh. The charges relate to an ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of his estranged wife, dual Australian-Bangladeshi woman Rehana Parvin, whose body was found in Bangladesh in 2024. This marks the first time the AFP has charged an individual with foreign bribery for personal advantage, carrying a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
