Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he warned Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in August that the government’s decision to recognise Palestinian statehood poured fuel on the antisemitic fire.

In an address, Mr Netanyahu said “antisemitism is a cancer” and that it “spreads when leaders stay silent”.
