Bob Katter calls for a seventh sate of North Queensland
Queensland MP Bob Katter has reignited calls for North Queensland to split off from the rest of the state arguing Australia needs a seventh state.
The Member for Kennnedy says an estimated 800,000 people living north of the Tropic of Capricorn are not being served by the government in Brisbane.
The next cyclone to batter the state he believes will give the idea momentum and ultimately boost the country’s economy by hundreds of billions of dollars.
