Beneath heavy skies and sometimes pouring rain, Queenslanders have turned out in numbers at dawn services to remember and honour the Anzacs. It’s 111 years since the flower of Australia’s youth went ashore at Gallipoli to fight and die, in a campaign that would help forge our national identity.
