Ben Roberts-Smith had made plans to relocate overseas to Spain, the United States or Singapore in the days before his arrest, according to court documents released after suppression orders were lifted. The former Special Forces soldier held tickets to depart for Singapore on 11 April with his partner Sarah Matulin, and had researched establishing a health and wellness company in Spain. Federal police alleged the multiple locations were intended to obscure his movements, though Roberts-Smith maintains he cooperated fully with authorities throughout the investigation.
