‘Ban the burqa’: Rowan Dean says policy is about integration, not controversy
Sky News host Rowan Dean defends calls to ban the burqa, arguing the garment promotes “reverse assimilation” and pointing to countries that have already introduced similar restrictions.
“So, Pauline’s been talking about things like banning the Burqa,” Mr Dean said.
“It’s a form of reverse integration, reverse assimilation; it’s taking a group of the community, a vulnerable group of the community and saying you’re not going to look like the rest of the mainstream.
“To say let’s ban the Burqa is not controversial; there are many countries around the world that do it for that very reason.”
