Backpack claims Fat Bear Week crown
Bear number 89, known as Backpack, has won Fat Bear Week at Alaska’s Katmai National Park. The victory continues a family legacy, as his mother Holly claimed the same title in 2019. Backpack earned his name as a cub when he would cling to his mother’s back while swimming. #FatBearWeek #Alaska #KatmaiNationalPark
