Australia’s economic growth is being artificially propped up by mass migration

Sky News host Rita Panahi argues Australia’s economic growth is being artificially propped up by mass migration, warning the policy is driving down living standards while disguising deeper economic weakness.

“Without mass migration we would be in a recession,” Ms Panahi said.

“It is that sugar hit they’re getting from extra numbers in the country that’s making the economic data a bit more palatable.

“That’s why you’re seeing your living standards drop, you’re seeing these cost-of-living pressures, whilst the economic data says, oh yeah we’re still growing.”
