Australia’s ‘biggest’ Ronaldo fan shares special connection after player’s retirement
Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from international football has brought up mixed emotions for some Portuguese Australians.
Ronaldo’s announcement brings an end to a glittering international career that started more than two decades ago and has included six World Cups, a European title and the men’s all-time international scoring record.
Former NRL star Josh Mansour, who is half Portugese, said he feels a special connection with Ronaldo.
Speaking with SBS sports reporter John Baldock, he said his mother’s family is from the same island as the football great.
