Australian families ‘taking back power’ from big tech: Albanese
The federal government’s long-awaited social media ban for children under 16 has come into force.
The restrictions will prevent Australian children from creating or keeping an account on many popular social platforms, including Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.
Adjusting to life without social media will be challenging for millions of Australian teenagers, the prime minister has warned. Anthony Albanese urged parents and children to have a conversation about the restrictions.
“This is the day when Australian families are taking back power from these big tech companies,” he told ABC TV on Wednesday
